Hey there pretty girls!
Love at first sight – that is what happened when I saw a picture of this look by one of my favorite makeup artists on Instagram. Eyeliner? Pure perfection. Blue pigment? Oh, yes! Pink lips? Yes, yes, and again YES! I couldn’t resist making my own version of this beautiful look and I must say, I just love how it turned out.
I must say, the most difficult thing about this look was the eyeliner. It is a very dramatic liner, really winged out and with a very thick line. Therefore, I took the time making this perfect because it is the focus of the eyes and everything else was actually really easy to do.
Keep in mind that with such a look you may want to have your skin looking fresh and clear because of the attention you will be drawing to your face. Also, even if you have the longest lashes, they will simply disappear if you have such a dramatic eyeliner so for the best results and to make your eyes really pop, you will want to wear false lashes to open up your eyes.
Since this look was so dramatic and screamed for attention (please do NOT wear this in public if you are a shy person or you don’t want all eyes on you!), I kept the rest of the face sculpted but not very crazy. Brow definition is a MUST for such a look, a little bit of contouring and highlighting and the smallest amount of blush and that was it for the face.
This lipstick… I mean, I knew I loved this color even before I got ahold of it and let me just say I had to search for it for a long, long time since MAC doesn’t sell this specific lipstick in Austria. But let me just say, MAC Candy Yum-Yum is exactly what the name says: yum-yum, yum-yum and more yum-yum! I absolutely LOVE it!!
For the lower lash line I used a blue liner pen and for under the eyes I used from my 120 colors palette some shades of blue (lighter in the inner corner and darker in the outer corner) and on top of that I used a very light blue pigment which has a bit of sparkle to give it that pop in the inner corner.
As you can see, Candy Yum-Yum is the most perfect shade of hot pink / fuchsia. Again, please use a lip liner to keep the line crisp and defined with such a bold color. The lipstick has a matte finish, therefore it stays on really well but also it can be a bit drying if you wear it a whole day and keep reapplying it. You could wipe the top layer off and then reapply it and you should be good to go.
Let me know, how do you like this look? How do you like the combination of these colors and the way they work together? Should I do such dramatic looks more often or more everyday looks?
