Hey there pretty girls!
Sunday is my spa at home – day where I enjoy a little me-time and take care of everything important such as hair, nails, facials.. you name it! So, the whole sunday I usually treat my hair to a coconut oil mask which I leave in from morning until evening when I actually wash my hair.
Coconut oil is one of the most inexpensive treatments you could buy for your hair and the results are simply amazing. It is great for a lot of things, you could use it for your body, your hair or even to cook with it! (More on other ways on how I use this oil coming soon on the blog ;) ) For now, here you have my way of doing my own coconut hair treatment at home.
When you buy pure coconut oil it is solid and it is not how you would expect an oil to look like.
I take a small amount out of the jar (it is still solid).
While I rub it between my palms, it just melts and becomes more and more like an oil. It transforms from a white solid mass to a transparent oil. You could also heat it up in a microwave and then you’ll also have your oil.
I begin by applying it to my ends since they are the most damaged part of my hair. After rubbing the amount of oil that I had in my hair, I take more coconut oil and repeat the same process again.
While using more and more oil, I also go up and also apply it to the lengths of my hair.
On my scalp I only use a smaller amount since that part is not really dried out but in the end I have the oil all over my hair, more or less.
Lastly, I put my hair in a bun so that the ends are tucked in really well and leave that in for about 8-10 hours. And no, I don’t get out of the house with that hair but oh well, a girl gotta do what a girl gotta do to take care of that hair ;)
And that’s about it. I just wash my hair as a normally would and after drying it I can already see how the ends are not that damaged anymore and the hair has a nice healthy shine to it.
Let me know, have you already tried this out? Do you use any other coconut oil products on your hair (or on your body)? What would you recommend?
